A prom is an organized dance event, usually very classy and held by schools. An opportunity for people to spend time together, dress up and celebrate the end of another school year.

It's also incredibly romantic for some people and tends to be a larger even for couples because they spend most the night dancing close and making goo goo eyes and one another.
