Sure no problem. The little thing is called a Digimon. A digital monster. They are the locals of this world.

The one in particular stalking you is your partner, you use your emotions to make them strong, converting them into energy (It's really not as hard as it sounds) And they can turn into bigger stronger forms to help defend you or fight along side you against the forces of darkness...or the forces of light if that's your preference.

More importantly they are your friends...your partner should trust you completely and you them. There's an unspoken unseen bond between tamers and partners that transcends anything and if you take care of them, they'll take care of you.
